For someone who doesn’t really know the story, I was really interested in the details of what happened
Chronology
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcasting team was forced to cover a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. The performances are believable, the humor in the right places and the pace and timing don’t leave you looking at an exit before the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points
Some may find it tedious not having the scenes change, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and feel like they were on this eventful day.
Makes you think without preaching
They touched the political and emotional elements well. Mixing footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, will definitely draw you into the experience even more.
A nice touch
It’s not really a movie that I plan to watch again and again, but it’s a very well made piece that I recommend to friends who like this kind of movies.
