Chronology
A man takes his wife and teenage children on a trip down memory lane as he faces divorce. Florent Bernard had written the film with Charlotte Gainsbourg in mind as Sandrine, but instead asked for a Charlotte Gainsbourg-like actress because he believed he could do it. You never get it for the movie. Luckily, her producers were also producing Jane par Charlotte (2021) (her documentary about her famous mother), so they asked her and she loved the script. It was only after she accepted that Bernard came up with the idea of uniting her with José Garcia; then he completely rewrote the character for him. He finally read the script one Wednesday morning and later that day said yes. During the breakfast scene at the beginning of the film, Sandrina’s children look at their bowl of cereal in front of them in one shot and suddenly look at their mother to the side in the next shot.
