Remake of The Mole Agent (2020)
Chronology
Charles, a retired man, finds a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s ad and becomes a mole in a secret investigation into a nursing home. Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The Mole Agent” Documentary is powerful because it makes people of any age, ethnicity or gender feel something remarkably similar, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way as “I have to call my mother.” In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, our show contributes to that feeling of making us want to call our mother?.
Ted Danson is brilliant as usual
As I write this I am currently on episode 5. This show is funny, thought-provoking and honestly a delight.
The other actors, engaging and charming in this “Who Done It,” are the stars
series. They are both equally involved in the criminal aspect as they are in the human aspect of loneliness.
The comedy is beautifully woven and the laughter is genuine
Each of us, regardless of our age, brings something new to the table. I feel the warmth of the message without all the corniness.
I hope this show continues on the journey that I am truly enjoying so much
Kudos to the writers, actors and directors who have crafted a show that is a gem.
