Paternalism, inheritance and generational trauma are woven through the prism of Irish culture
Chronology
An Irish shepherd family finds themselves in a battle on multiple fronts: internal strife, family animosity, competition with another farmer. Paul Mescal and Tom Burke were originally cast in the lead roles, but both dropped out when the project stalled in development and were replaced by Barry Keoghan and Christopher.
CORK FILM FEST – #3 (PREVIEW + Q&A) A fast-paced revenge film with never a dull moment that somehow manages to pull off the impossible in my opinion
Abbott.. 69.
Both do much more in their roles than anyone else
The entire cast does a fantastic job, but the standouts would have to be Nora-Jane Murphy, Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbot (whose accent is unreal for an American). The themes of abuse, violence and the inability to communicate are well woven into this.
I am very excited to be back with this general publication
They are also very timely in our world right now, so they really spoke to me.
